CHILDREN’S LANGUAGE AND MUSIC TEACHER

NOTE: This part-time job is for 5-15 hours per week and is perfect for a bilingual performing artist, musician, or student who has a genuine love for children and is looking to earn extra money.

NYC language and music program for children ages 6 months to 5 years old is seeking amazing, awesome, friendly Spanish, French and Mandarin teachers. We are looking for singer/guitar players (ukulele or keyboard players) to lead our fun language classes who can teach language through music, movement and puppetry. A background in theater is very helpful. Class locations are in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx, and Staten Island. We have online training and you do not need to create any of the content of what to teach in your classes. We provide all of the easy to learn and easy to teach lesson plans. You would need to prepare it on your own time and then teach in the classrooms. Classes begin in September and October. Please only apply if you can begin teaching this Fall and if you can commit to a consistent weekly schedule for the school year September – June. It’s mandatory that you play an instrument. If you have a genuine love for children, are a bilingual musician who is able to show up for early mornings in a professional setting, and are interested in sharing your language and culture with children, then this is the right place for you! Requirements

  • Available for classes from either from 9am-12 pm or in the afternoon from 3-5pm.
  • Fluent in spoken Spanish or French or Mandarin; native speakers preferred.
  • Must be able to successfully engage children under the age of five years old, sing, act, be silly, be creative, move around a classroom, and know when to musically improvise while teaching.
  • Must be able to play a guitar, ukulele or keyboard while singing.
  • Must have proven experience working with children under five years old.
  • Very friendly, professional, responsible, and ALWAYS ON TIME.
  • Fully vaccinated.
  • Permission to work in the US.
